MEET OUR BOARD OF DIRECTORS ON THE GROUND IN MALAWI

Katlyn and Paul originally came to Malawi in 2014 with the US government organization Peace Corps. After falling in love with the country and the people, they looked for opportunities to stay. Currently they live in Manchewe Village in Northern Malawi, where they own a tourism business called The Mushroom Farm Eco-Lodge. Katlyn and Paul volunteer as board members on the ground in Malawi for Malawi Youth Education Fund.

“We’ve learned a lot about different ways to contribute towards the development of a community throughout our time in Malawi. In our opinion, education is the foundation towards this development and the growth of a community, and MYEF helps with that."

An essential business practice for Mushroom Farm Eco-Lodge is to provide individuals livable salaries, helping families also contribute to their children's education. MYEF sponsors the student's fees for school, while their families provide transport money, uniforms, and books. This makes MYEF a real community effort.
